Not enough people are aware of how powerful distance healing can be. It works for the client just as well as hands-on reiki. Although it is obviously not as personal there are other benefits.
eg. It is not always convenient for the client to travel to the therapist's home.
eg. If someone wishes an urgent treatment this can often be arranged very quickly using distance healing.
eg. Sometimes it can be easier to relax in the comfort of your own home and not have to worry about anything else.
Reiki in general is a difficult thing to understand let alone the concept of sending it through space and time. I like to compare reiki to electricity. It flows through our aura and body re-charging us like a battery and can sometimes be felt as gentle electricity traveling through our meridians during a treatment.
Also our physical heart will respond to electricity and restart with jump leads! Maybe a bit drastic but worth thinking about :)
Sending distance healing to me feels just as personal and powerful as hands on. I am able to reach a deeper state of relaxation which for me enhances the psychic side of the treatment. I can pick up in more detail any ailments the client is suffering from.
The client is able to feel the treatment and benefit from it just as well as any hands on treatment too.
After reading the last paragraph you might be thinking why hands-on at all?
Most clients like to meet their therapist to discuss one to one why they have come for the treatment and like to be able to talk about the treatment afterwards.
This can be done by phone or email but not to the same level.
Many people get comfort from the gentle contact during their reiki treatment.
